Environment Day(s) to Celebrate!

Hello Friends, Writing up with gap of more than couple of years now. The day today is celebrated as World Environment Day. Its good feeling many politicians and diplomats are now in belief that in this era of century, every day must be Environment Day and every member in human race must contribute their input to its betterment. Looking at today’s response of Amdavadis to Environment day (at-least) is good, looking on Radio Jingles and TV channels. Ahmedabad, we seen change in eco-system and Bio-Diversity with top-most temperature with 47 degree on previous day! Was this now a final signal to wake up? Or still we need some more changes and get adapted to these changes? Sometimes solution to any problem is very easy to execute. But when such solutions are not executed on time, it has positive relations to Cost and Time (Taken to execute solution) and Result Uncertainty. Lets give a thought, why Ahmedabad on 47 and may be going on 50…??? So many reasons are there to bet, that we will see 50 Degree record in next season and there will be no deferral. I am sure this young generation will do something on aggressive tone with large voice, volume and likes! But obviously, this will be on social sites or apps of mobiles. Its completely different issues, that coming generation is dragging themselves away from field reality. Almost half of the day goes in liking, sharing and gossiping. This is compensated from quality time of learning new things, out-door sports, family time and others. Let’s get back to our topic. In Ahmedabad, we use Tar in road system, Glasses in Building Layout(Just for Professional Look) and Excess use of Compressors. All these three units contribute excess of minimum 4-5 Degree increment in regular Temperature. In Ahmedabad, Good Vikas has bought Good Bhog-Villas. So people have started using Air-Conditioners as normal utility either on Cash or EMI. It’s a Noon time or Mid-Night or Traveling in Car, Air Conditioners are getting need for the people. Amdavadi are talking very much about Grow More Trees, but we are Far more behind of at-least SAVING the survived Trees. I remember, People use to search space with shadow, when they have to wait for their turn at Traffic signals. But with road expansion program, Lots of valuable trees are been lost. Many Birds have lost their homes and many other members have lost their shelters. But things are not getting observed when you are sitting in your air conditioning cars. We are not raising our voice to protect these trees and we are talking about increasing the numbers. But obvious you will get happy atleast by saying good words on social sites and apps and collect some comments and likes. But Satisfaction is higher step to Happiness, and this satisfaction you can achieve by doing something on real-time basis. We must concentration on not just plantation, but we have to study what to plant and with what motive. We have some categories of Trees which produce Oxygen during night as-well. We much grow them with high priority, because Oxygen is not only for life support but oxygen helps in cooling down the temperature in the atmosphere. We must reduce unnecessary use of such compressors which produce Carbon Di Oxide with high speed. And the most easiest way to contribute is to save the existing Trees around you. Development of infrastructure is necessary, but at what cost, is to be decided by we people. So lets contribute and change the things to better. In July 2013, TOI Reported Gandhinagar, Lost 50K Trees in last 5 years.

Save Trees in Ahmedabad

Dear Reader,
Recently we had seen High-Court Verdict on 'Monkey Hit' (date) problem with solution to cut down precious trees at Cantonment Camp and Camp Golf Club. Approximately 3000 Trees are there to nourish Shahibaug and Ahmedabad people with Oxygen, Cool Atmosphere and Rain possibilities. More Importantly, It provides shelter to small Animals and Birds which are slowly getting isolated from the city.
This isolation caused due to merciless chopped down trees for various infrastructure growth of city like roads, multi-storey housing etc.. This time the reason is Monkey Trouble, which hit the commercial airplanes on runway. Concern for life security reasons of passengers boarding the plane should be of high priority, and one is very much in support to Airlines Service provider’s attitude regarding passenger’s life security.
But, I would like to draw attention of Law Court Authority and Airport Authority that this is not the way to deal with the situation or get solution of. They can create some Higher Fens and commendable person Staff to patrol around the airport periphery. However, Cutting trees to get rid of animals and birds is ‘Bull-Shit’ solution, I believe. Can higher authorities guarantee about the solution to this matter, I suppose no. And cutting down such big numbers of trees may invite new other problems, which we do not see at this moment. The matter is, we are expanding and not animals and trees, so technically we are brutally snatching their homes. Our Ahmedabad is one of the prime destinations to be amidst greenery. And this is heavy sacrifice in name of Human development & security.
We Human cannot exist alone without this precious friend from eco-cycle.
This is the moment, now; we people will only nourish our farm, Home & City garden areas in Facebook only in Cityville and Farmville. I am afraid; perhaps, we people have just learned to maintain some green and woods in our virtual farms of cyber-world and not real-world. Remember, Cyber world is not going to give shelter, oxygen and better living atmosphere. Choice is yours.
Wake-up, we all are still Anna, Corruption is just a battle, and Humans are facing a big War ahead against themselves to save Environment. Support from your office, colleges and schools.
Wake-up for, For Yourself & Your Children
[This article is to make an appeal to all NGO and Environment Welfare institutions to come ahead, and take some valuable initiative with alternative solutions to this matter mentioned]

Snow Leopard

Yes, you are right! This is the species which we saw in movie "vertical limit", lead actor taking snap of it. You might also have this words on frequent basis for product of Apple. Its now time to get the details and threats to this animal in future. Snow Leopard is the toughest hunter on the highest level from sea level. Its gift from nature to us and the question is, will our children or grand children going to see this cat alive in front of there eyes or will make study of it as thesis from any renown library as subject of history???

Friends, let me introduce this Cat to you all.

An expert at navigating the steep and rocky apline regions of Central Asia, the snow leopard is recognisable by its long tail and almost-white coat, spotted with large black rosettes. There are up to 6,000 snow leopards in the wild across 12 countries, but its numbers are gradually declining, with hunting and habitat loss just some of the reasons that it is endangered.

Snow leopard is a relative species to more widely seen Leopard (Panthera pardus). It is in the same size range as leopard.

Snow leopards are highly adapted to their natural habitat of cold high mountains. With their whitish-, yellowish- or smokey-grey fur, patterned with dark grey rosettes and spots, they can perfectly camouflage against the mountainous rocky terrain.

The fur has long hair with dense, woolly underfur to protect them against the cold enviornment. Snow leopards molt twice a year, but the summer coat differs little from the winter in density and length.

Snow leopards have long tails, upto 1 m in length, that helps in keeping balance and as an additional protection against the cold to wrap around the body when the snow leopard is resting.

Size

Head-body length: 90 - 130 cm
Adult shoulder height: about 60 cm
Tail length: 80 - 100 cm
Female weight: 35-40 kg
Male weight: 45 - 55 kg

What do snow leopards eat?

Snow leopards typically prey on blue sheep, Argali wild sheep, Siberian ibex, Asiatic ibex, marmots, pikas, hares, Tibetan snowcock and chukor partridge. Their sole predator is humans.

What are the main threats to the snow leopard?

Human conflict is a key factor affecting the survival of the snow leopard. Snow leopards are often killed by local farmers because they prey on livestock such as sheep, goats, horses, and yak calves. In some areas domestic animals can make up to 58% of the snow leopard's diet.

The reason for the snow leopard's increased reliance on domestic animals for meat is due to the decline in their natural prey base. The animals they would typically hunt such as the Argali sheep are also hunted by local comunitites.

Much of the population decline is also attributed to hunting for the much coveted fur and for bones which are used in Chinese medicines.

The habitat of the snow leopard continues to decline as inreased grazing and human settlements fragment the historic range of the species.

Celebrating "Earth Hour" ??? Which Hour ???!!!

Hello Friends,

Yesterday on anonymous FM channel I came across term "EARTH HOUR" on 27th March 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Well I really appreciate such efforts by any of who is in support. My ambiguity is that we all have become such calculative mind to dedicate 60 minutes in a year to our only home Earth??? If this is the beginning to give a thought to Save Earth, then we are in need to take a supersonic pick up before it gets too late.

See the thing is, Where you will contribute to this hour? I suggest to switch your thinking to an hour every day for dedication to earth. This may take your entire schedule towards environmental oriented and you may get a degree of satisfaction, which is not there in your routine work.

Air, Water and Plastic Pollutions are the major matters to concern. Please avoid meaningless plastic use. Switch off your Vehicles when you have Idle time to do with it. Avoid waste of water and support projects of non-polluting water plant, so that water to be released in river from industry is pollution free.

Youngster's contributions are highly expected and is in demand for this kind of self owned noble project. Each of Youth must have adopted one environment oriented plant, and take responsibility to nourish it at his/her own convenience. Humans are permanently suffered from making a habit, and from this, to a habituate. So this will help us to make a habit and which will crate next genes an environmental oriented.

If one alone, can't save a forest then at-least help one tree to grow the most. - Quote inspired from saying of Mother Teresa

On this page you will get link to other environmental solutions in routine life and also few of related blogs. So you can come across the solutions on your own.

Remember we are not alone on this planet but this planet is a one of a kind for us as a home. Save it.

Where the Sparrows have gone !!!???

Friends,

Do you remember when you last saw that tiny and sweet sound making sparrow on your window grill or in your ultra luxurious compound????? I know ... u don't remember it.!! I am sure you had a habit to put some cooked rice and a pot for those sweet birds during your childhood times in summer vacations. Now a days we have lost those values in busy schedules and stressful life. It seems that we have forgotten our duties and values towards nature and a kind of society members like this birds who never made any harm to our lifestyle and always given a pleasant company.

Warning to us all is this sparrows are getting disappeared due to many or reasons and flows created by us humans. Biggest contributors to this event are our telecom towers which has harmful rays enough to destroy them. Trees are getting disappear to give them shelters. People got busy in their AC rooms and office not to think about birds outside their artificial environment.

Yes my friends, Our children are surely not going to see this sweet member of our society in future if things are not taken to atleast some control.

So please, Put up a water pot and cardboard made house in the corner to make them shelter. Because trees are not out there... so they depend on our cardboard made house to take shelter. Or else to see this birds... you will definitely have to depend on encyclopedia of lost creatures.

So, take pity on the lowly sparrow. They really can’t hurt us.

Give your Best attempt.
Best of Luck.
